To maintain comfortable, even heating without wasting energy, it’s important to choose a radiator with power output suited to each specific room. A radiator that’s too weak will struggle to heat the space and will operate at maximum capacity all the time, potentially stressing the electrical system. A radiator that’s too strong will cost more and take up unnecessary space. Here’s how to find the right balance.

Selecting a properly sized radiator ensures:
Stable comfort: heat spreads evenly throughout the room.
Lower energy bills: no excessive consumption.
Longer lifespan: the radiator runs efficiently rather than overworking.
Step 1: Measure the Room Volume
Measure the room’s length, width, and height, then multiply the three numbers to calculate the volume in cubic meters (m³).
Example: 4 m × 3 m × 2.5 m = 30 m³
Step 2: Assess Insulation and Orientation
Heating needs vary depending on insulation quality and how the room is exposed to sunlight:
Modern, well-insulated homes: about 30 W/m³
Older or poorly insulated homes: up to 45 W/m³
Step 3: Use the Calculation Formula
Required power (W) = Room volume (m³) × Coefficient (W/m³)
Example: 30 m³ × 30 W/m³ = 1050 W
Step 4: Adapt to the Room’s Function
Bedroom: prioritize steady, gentle heating.
Living room with large windows: add extra power to offset heat loss.
Bathroom: choose a quick-heating radiator for fast temperature rise.
In most cases, it’s wise to add a 5–10% margin to handle very cold days.
